Of Birthdays And Surprises. Right it's been some time since I last updated. It's the exam period and I'm really glad that it's coming to an end!! YAY!! I tell you, it's gets so much harder to study when you're nearing the end. That's this stoopid voice that tells you that (1) you're screwed so don't bother or (2) you're saturated so don't bother. As you can see, it doesn't quite work out either way. Sigh.
Having said that, there's just one more paper to go. So hang in there, everyone else who has ONE more paper yah? Haha.
I know you're cursing bitch under your breath now .
So the girls were really thoughtful and decided to surprise me with a nice cake last Friday. Well it's all a little strange and I have this infamour reputation for ruining my own surprises and succeeding in making others work. (With the exception of the Bristol ones, somehow it just doesn't quite work out well here - Very strange) But yes, this is how it went.
I decided to take the manor girls out for dinner cos' they had been really really nice and accommodating to me thru' out the year. Really really. They cook and house me and I'm very grateful to them! So took them out for dinner, in which they decided to surprise me with a cake after dinner. Being the idiot that I am, I went ahead to pay for the bill at the counter to avoid any niceties at the table when the bill came and chanced upon a cake.
Of course I was alerted, seeing how Susian and Xun were making funny faces at each other during dinner (and they were seated in front of me) but I must admit that Yanxuan almost threw me off. I spoted 2 candles on the cake and thought that it could be for someone else. In any case if it was for me, I was deeply appreciative, if not then it didn't matter. It wasn't like I was expecting anything. =)
So the cake arrived and I
was surprised!! YAY!! They got me!!! Haha but then told them how I managed to ruin my own surprise. Sucks mann. And Yanxuan confessed that she thought I was 22. Corey had to tell her I was two years older because of army. The irony of life.
Surprises surprises. Everyone loves surprises huh. I think I might have to retire with respect to surprises. It's not nice when people look at me and think I have a part to play when someone's birthday's round the corner. I just wanna enjoy and be part of a surprise you know?
Anyways that aside - I'M COMING HOME!!! Really miss Singapore!! Friends and family!!!

To my lovely council friends, looking forward to Home Coming 2006!! Esp since the girls are all back!!

And to my cell group, can't wait to chill with you guys at Brekos mann. Is that still the in thing?! Haha!!

To the ACMG gang, it's time to rock the world!!

To my two beautiful sisters, please tidy up my room okay? =O) Love you both!

To my beloved Ms Ngiamngiam, see you in London!!!
Till then, it's two more days of work and study. See you guys back home. =)

Cold Turkey Treatment.I don't know why I do these things to myself. Perhaps it's for the better you know. Whilst I was studying at the manor hall library yesterday, I had this immediate desire to play the piano! And the thing was that I knew they had a grand piano in the music room - I knew it was pretty crappy
BUT didn't know it had gotten crappier over the past year - I had to make do.
Ever since I kept my instruments in light of the upcoming exams, I have had sudden bouts of desires to play
something, anything musical. And I realised that it stems from an inner desire to express myself and so have been doing over the past many many years. It's sorta difficult to keep all those ideas in your head right? (Someone back me up pls)
Anyways had some inspiration last night to get some lyrics out - was feeling slightly angry at a friend of mine - don't know why - but it's a lot better now. Probably one of the few emo-nemo-I-hate-the-world kinda lyrics that I'd actually written.
It's A Crying Shame Strength of character so you'd preach
Astute to detect what is wrong
Caving into your inner desires
Morality, but a game you play
Where's the value in the gold you seek?
Priceless virtues you choose to flee
Selfish gains to please the soul
For worldly desires you lose your soul
But you did what you had to do
It's something I'll never understand
Don't think you realise it at all
Don't think you realise it at all
You delight yourself in pretty gifts
And left YOURSELF in the midst
Don't think you realise it at all
Don't think you realise it at all It's a crying shame (But I don't judge)
What a crying shame (And I love you still)
It's a crying shame (I hope you realise)
Crying crying shame (You're better than that)
Dedicated to a close friend.

The Best Time Of The Year. Please don't think me mad simply because I love the upcoming exams. Well of course I'm thankful for them cos' it's the
only time you actually get some serious studying done. Come on, let's be fair, play 11 months study 1 month is a pretty good deal lahh huh.
More importantly, the weather's picking up (I'm talking in the longer run - I know the weather hasn't been fantastic of late) and daylight hours are stretching! So all is good! Wendy's coming up in less than a month's time and we'll be off to Portugal for a couple of days. Can't wait! We'll be doing a few road trips around the UK as well, so that's gonna be fun!! Alton Towers too!! =)
Wells, in the midst of the boring routine, a few of us managed to find
some joy - the finer things in life - like eating Ice-cream. It's always nice reminiscing on old days where we chased the ice cream uncle for the "Twist", "Split" amongst many others. Good O' days!

Oh yes, my days with Vodaphone are over!! And they are really lucky that I've not burnt their shop down yet! My contract ended and so I'm with THREE now. So far it's been pretty good. Managed to keep my number and got a better plan too! Got the Nokia 6280 to use, and the old Nokia 6230 would replace my dying Samsung. Was just fiddling with my new toy - they have a PHOTO IMAGE EDITOR - how cool is that?!
Check it out!

The very first neoprint Wendy and I took back in J1!!

Post Baltics. I must admit that life
after Baltics kinda slowed down into a somewhat boring routine of work, poker, beer and music. But in the midst of all that, there were some exciting sparks!! Well you take what you can get lahh huh.
London went pretty well. Met up with Hsia Ling!! Really nice seeing her again! We went to eat. That's about the bulk of our meetings. Eat eat eat!! Haha, an excellent companion when it comes to food.
Angie, I must admit that you are a near second, but of late, you've proven to have deteriorated! Buck up my supper and gym buddy! Okay now that that's out of the way, here's an example of our pigging out session at Rendevous - An ice cream parlour. =)

The next highlight over Easter was the FUNFAIR!!! Honestly right, we were all acting like kids. Of course with the exception of some -
Who were just being themselves - They had these exciting rides that threw you around, high up in the sky, and they had the Disney's equivalent of the Tower of Terror. Pretty good for a traveling fun fair!!

We HAD to take stoopid photos. Can't believe the amount of money spent on games winning the weapons. I know, it's stoopid but hey, it's the exam season, it's a tough time!! DE-STRESS!!

We were
trying to be like PRCs. Heh! No offence!!

In My Life. Alrighty, this is what I've been doing every day. To be fair, it's a good mix of work and play lahh right? Can't be too hard on oneself!! In the spirit of black and white, here's a summary of my somewhat weekly routine. Hmmm, include a mental photo of the gym as well. =)

Sadly, I'm in the library MOST of the day. SIGH.

Recording!! Here's my little mini-studio!!

Poker. You won't believe how crazy my house is over poker. We even got the poker table mat.

The sun is out, and spring is here!! Enjoyed a nice pint of Erdinger whilst people watching. That's the life =)
Oh, Wendy and I wrote and composed out first piece together! It's called "Ni Ye Zai Xiang Wo Ma?" (translate: Are you also thinking of me?

Okie dokie, will update more some other time!
