Honk! So we start Honk! this evening. All the practice has come to this - 4 nights of performance!! Hopefully it'll be good!! Got a couple of friends to come down tmrw for some moral support (and physical support too!) and Su said she'll make me a nice big banner.
The orchestral setting. We are ready to go! There's like a post-performance plan every night and we'll be pigging out on pizzas tonight. So that should be fun. After all, I haven't been eating well these days cos' no time to prepare or even go buy fast food, so poor thing right?
On a completely separate note, I had the oddest handout for my medical law class. Never thought it'll ever come to this.

We were having a lecture on assisted conception. Fairly interesting I must say. Did you know that 1 out of 7 ppl here in the UK have problems conceiving? Quite a fair bit actually. Oh wells some of the cases we learn are really quite sad.
Okay shall put up more photos in time to come. Need to find some way of recording the musical. =)

It's All Good Now. So this week has been really exhausting because of all the rehearsals. Things are picking up but not as quickly as it should. Oh wells, the performance is like next week and we still have rhythm issues and the actors have memorising lines issues. SIGH. But it should work out, it always does. And more importantly, it's a fun thing that we're all doing together.
I did quite a lot of partying last week. It was Su's birthday celebration (2nd one actually!) and Angelica's birthday. So I ended up at the same club two nights in a row. It is quite nice, except that it got a little bit if an overkill by the second night. You know what I mean.
So here are some photos. It was a nice happy night. =)
The past and the present. The birthday girl and the boys all together!
Hmmm this is a nice photo. I actually managed to cover the flash (partially) unintentionally and got a nice effect. Dunno lahh, I think it's quite a cool effect. That's Amanda to my left and Meishi, Grace and Bobby to my right. Okay Bobby, it's hard to call you Szehao given that everyone here calls you that.
The next day, a few of us had dinner at Zizzi's to celebrate Angelica's birthday. It was SO filling. We started with a couple of starters, which were pretty decent. Did a nice pizza on my own, can't quite remember what fillings it had, but nice lahh. Then came the best part - dessert.

What made it particularly good was that it's FREE!! Yes yes I know, the Singaporean mentality. But how not to resist? They had to take the table for an incoming group of ppl and offered to chase us to the bar to have dessert. They were very apologetic and sincere and I didn't have the heart to reject them. None of us could.
Bobby at it again!
Yeah here's the group that had dinner. One of Angelica's friend, Johanna (not sure if got the spelling right) was quite trigger-happy. So many many photos were taken. Nice ones I hope. She had one of those ancient cameras which I seriously didn't know how to use. I'm quite pok lahh. =)
The birthday girl So after a big dinner we headed down to Syndicate. We were pretty early and managed to get one of those nice sofas to seat at. Quite cool concept! Check it out!!

Well that was the weekend. The week ahead was nothing like that. It was rehearsals almost every night and many futile attempts to work after. I've figured out that it's easier to head straight to bed, and then wake up earlier the next day to work. Like what I did today.
Okay I'm more or less done for the week, cleared three tutorials with one more to go. Sorry Jonny boy about the mix up! Made the poor boy come down to class only to find out that it's been cancelled. Funniest part, I knew it two weeks back and had forgotten about it.

Notts. So Bobby and I drove up to Nottingham over the weekend. Started the journey pretty early and of course Bobby msged me a classic sleepy Bobby message, "Are you cycle and no track to leave?" Clearly he was still in bed. The drive up was pleasant and there were few cars on the road. We managed to get to Nottingham in slightly over two hours, with a break in between BUT got really lost within Notths itself. Super loser right.
We circled the city centre AND the medicine faculty at least 3 times (respectively) before getting there. Sigh. It made supporting the Bristol team more eventful though. Caught up with some Navy friends - Boey, Lawrence, Weichuen. Well you see, Notts Games is like this little mini-gathering that all Singaporeans gather annually.
The REAL fun began after the Games. The few of us went out for Teppanyaki at this Japanese Restaurant called Ginza. It was fantastic! We had the chef in front of us doing his tricks and all, which were cool I guess. Remembered the one I had with my family in Australia,
that was amazing. But for the price, it was indeed a good experience.
The chef was SO good and SO fast that you couldn't see his actions! WAHHH
Had the Fish set comprising of Shark meat, Swordfish and Salmon.
Bobby, Dan and Adam (Mag's housemate) Well we did some silly stuff at a huge Tesco's carpark but I've only got videos of it, so can't display what we did. Let's just say it was exhilarating!! =) *grin*
Adam had quite a bit of fireworks back home so we took those out to play. Wow it's the first time I'm playing with them. Yeah don't worry we played it under 'controlled' conditions, so everything went well. It was beautiful! A pity it's banned in Singapore!
I love this one! I think it's called the Roman Candle.
This was at the backyard of Mag's place. It's supposed to be some cyclic thingy
A sparkler's classic!

Happiness!! The past two weeks were rather fulfilling. Didn't have much school to begin with, so had plenty of time to do others (of which studying is part of). Things are picking up a little, Honk! the musical is playing at the end of the month and I've gotta be at rehearsals almost every day! It's been okay so far, except that I think that we're short of time. So hopefully can get the act together, literally!
I've been jamming with the other band as well, and definitely learning a lot of stuff about band dynamics and all. Things are still a little rough with the teamwork, but nothing unusual that bands don't face!
The weekends have been great though!! Went up to London two weeks back to visit friends. Thanks to Shyan for hosting, really nice to meet up again! Always up to all sorts as usual!
I think we are still kids deep inside! Also, caught 'We Will Rock You' by Queen!! It was extremely good!! One of the best I've seen in a long time!! Wanted to catch Billy Elliot (for the umpteenth time now) but they ran out as usual. GRACE!! You should come back to Bristol to visit!!!
All you Queen fans! Go watch!! Mag was really nice to come visit as well. Had a good dinner together with Zhexian at Vincenzos. Did the usual touristy stuff at the Clifton Suspension Bridge, walked to Park Street. Yup, she didn't have much time here lahh, left for London early the next morning!
Chilling over some wine and biscuits! Okay gotta run now, will update in a bit again!!
